Wu Ke is a professor and doctoral supervisor. His main research interests includeremote sensing image interpretation,intelligent computing, andremote sensing applications in geoscience.

He serves as Vice President of the Wuhan Chapter of IEEE GRSS (IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society) (2016–2020), an IEEE Senior Member, a member of the Hyperspectral Imaging Specialty Committee of the Chinese National Committee of the International Society for Digital Earth, a member of a specialized committee of the China Society of Image and Graphics, an editorial board member ofRemote Sensing,Applied Sciences, andGeological Science and Technology Bulletin, and a member of the national remote sensing expert pool as well as expert pools of several provincial science and technology departments. He has also long served as a reviewer for several international journals, includingIEEE TGRS,IEEE JSTARS,Remote Sensing, andJARS.

He has received theFirst Prize of the China Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Progress Award, the Third Prize in the Innovation and Creativity Competition organized by the Science and Technology Commission of the Central Military Commission, the Third Prize for Intelligent Processing and Industry Applications of Remote Sensing Images, the Excellence Award in the Gaofen Earth Observation Application Innovation Competition, and the Third Prize in the Orbita Cup National Hyperspectral Satellite Remote Sensing Image Intelligent Processing and Industry Application Competition. He has been appointed as a Science and Technology Deputy Director for Enterprises in Hubei Province and as an expert advisor for the “Ecological Geology Innovation Technology” innovation platform of the Hubei Provincial Geology Bureau.

At present, he has publishedmore than 70 papers in domestic and international academic journals and has authoredtwo academic monographs. He has led and participated insix projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, more than ten provincial- and ministerial-level projects, and four talent-support funding programs, including the “Cradle Program” and “Outstanding Postdoctoral” projects, and has served as a core member in more than 30 related research projects. In recent years, he has organized special issues in international journals such asRemote Sensing,Applied Sciences, andFrontiers in Environmental Science, and his work has received widespread attention and recognition.
